The suspect in the Golders Green stabbings was referred to the UK government’s counter-terrorism Prevent programme in 2020, it has emerged.<\/p>\n

This comes as two Jewish men, 34-year-old Shloime Rand and 76-year-old Moshe Shine, were attacked in London on Wednesday, which police are treating as a terrorist incident<\/p>\n

The programme is a key part of the UK’s counter-terror strategy, and places a legal duty on public bodies to identify people who may turn to extremism.<\/p>\n

However, the Metropolitan Police also said they \u201cwill not be providing any further information in respect of this matter at this time\u201d.<\/p>\n
