“Back then, my label wanted me to be the French Justin Bieber. But my teen years were shaped by Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey. That’s what I wanted to make. This new chapter is an homage to those idols, to the pop grandeur, to the escapism, the cinema of it all. The pop ambition. This music is for the bullied kid who was locking himself away in his bedroom, religiously consuming his pop idols on Youtube instead of doing his homework. Pop music is my passion. “Gas Station Lover” is the first act.”
