Congrats are in order for Jane\u2019s Addiction<\/a> guitarist Dave Navarro<\/a>, who married his longtime\u00a0girlfriend\u00a0\u2013 Swedish actress\/fashion designer Vanessa DuBasso<\/a> \u2013 in an intimate and stylish service over the weekend. You can see photos and read all the details below!<\/p>\n Per People magazine<\/a>, the couple \u201chosted a multi-day celebration featuring a forest ceremony, dungeon dancing and a bonfire on the beach.\u201d The wedding itself took place yesterday (March 29) at\u00a0Dunskey Estate<\/a>\u00a0in Stranraer, Scotland, and its \u201cgothic, darkly romantic atmosphere\u201d \u2013 and People put it \u2013 was precisely what the pair were looking for.<\/p>\n Specifically, the magazine continued, Navarro (57) and DuBasso (31) \u201calways dreamed of tying the knot at a castle, and when they saw pictures of Dunskey . . . they were instantly captivated by the \u2018enchanting\u2019 venue.\u201d That\u2019s not surprising given that \u2013 as the official Dunskey website describes \u2013 the location offers \u201c2000 acres of spectacular Scottish countryside\u201d that includes \u201can Edwardian castle, luxurious lodges and panoramic views of the land and sea.\u201d<\/p>\n DuBasso told People: \u201cIt exudes a moody, ethereal charm. Surrounded by a towering forest, a serene lake and the ruins of a castle along the shoreline, it felt like stepping into a fairytale.\u201d Likewise, Navarro told People: \u201cWe wanted our wedding to feel like a dream. It was important to us to find a place that felt unlike anywhere we had ever been, a place that embraced nature and transported us to another world. We wanted our loved ones to share in this intimate experience.\u201d<\/p>\n Naturally, the couple held a rehearsal dinner last Friday (March 28) that \u2013 per People \u2013 featured \u201clots of black candles and dee-colored flowers.\u201d During yesterday\u2019s event, the magazine added, the pair \u201cexchanged handwritten vows in a forest ceremony featuring a series of gold candelabra at the altar, an aisle lined with white roses and chandeliers hung from the trees to create \u2018an almost celestial ambiance.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n According to People, it was officiated by Dunskey Estate owner Ali Orr Ewing, with DuBasso wearing \u201cwhite with subtle black details\u201d and Navarro wearing \u201call-black attire\u201d that DuBasso claimed was \u201ca reflection of [their] contrasting yet complimentary spirits.\u201d (You can read more about the creators, details and intentions of their attire in the People magazine article.)<\/p>\n Additionally, People confirmed, \u201ca three-piece quartet performed live classical music\u201d during the wedding, with DuBasso walking down the aisle to Debussy<\/a>\u2019s \u201cClair de Lune<\/a>.\u201d Following their first kiss as a married couple, fireworks ignited in the sky as \u201cSpring 1<\/a>\u201d from Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi \u2013 The Four Seasons<\/em> played.<\/p>\n It\u2019s unknown if any other members of Jane\u2019s Addiction were there, but People clarified that comedian\/actor Pete Davidson<\/a> was among the guests. Also, the reception\/dinner included seafood, filet mignon, pasta and \u201can array of traditional Scottish desserts.\u201d As for the green wedding cake, DuBasso \u201chad her heart set on a princess cake, a classic domed confection consisting of layers of sponge, raspberry jam, vanilla custard and whipped cream and topped with a marzipan overlay.\u201d It\u2019s also decorated \u201cwith white icing, black cathedral patterns and roses.\u201d<\/p>\n From there, People wrote, attendees spent hours dancing and talking in the castle\u2019s dungeon, and today, they\u2019re going to end the joyous weekend with \u201csome guns shooting\u201d in addition to \u201cencounters\u201d with birds, \u201ca barbecue in the woods and a bonfire on the beach.\u201d DuBasso told the magazine: \u201cI wanted our last day to overflow with color, an expression of life.\u201d<\/p>\n Congrats to the happy couple!<\/p>\n You can see photos of Navarro and DuBasso\u2019s wedding weekend below (via the social media accounts of People magazine and Dave Navarro).<\/p>\n As People magazine detailed, Navarro and DuBasso met almost a decade ago, \u201cafter [he] saw a movie trailer featuring [her] and was smitten at first sight.\u201d So, he \u201creached out to the movie\u2019s director, who happens to be a friend, and asked if the model-turned-actress would be interested in a date with him.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was immediately drawn to Dave\u2019s green chestnut eyes, tattoos and dark comedic humor,\u201d DuBasso told People. \u201cHis whole being is powerfully magnetic, and it was love at first sight.\u201d \u00a0She also claimed: \u201cI\u2019ve never felt this way about anyone. He\u2019s the love of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n Reflecting on when he asked DuBasso for her hand in marriage, Navarro told the magazine that he was so \u201covertaken with excitement\u201d that his initial plans were quickly swapped. \u201cI had this grand proposal planned, but my excitement got the best of me. I couldn\u2019t contain myself, and it ended up happening in our kitchen around 3 a.m., just the two of us,” he described. “In hindsight, it was perfectly intimate \u2014 our own magical moment.\u201d<\/p>\n Prior to their meeting, DuBasso confessed to People, she was \u201cextremely lost and stuck in a cycle of self-destruction.\u201d She expanded: \u201cDave saved me from myself. I love who I am now because he\u2019s shown me who I can be and what I\u2019m capable of. He\u2019s kissed all my scars and I don\u2019t know if either of us would be alive today if it weren\u2019t for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n Similarly, Navarro admitted to People: \u201cWe support one another in ways that we\u2019ve never experienced before, through the most darkest times and the lightest times. We can always rely on each other to catch the other if one of us slips.\u201d<\/p>\n DuBasso added that they\u2019re planning to buy a house \u201cimmersed in nature, somewhere far away where [they] can feel free to create our little life away from the chaotic and busy world.\u201d<\/p>\n As for their honeymoon, she commented that Navarro \u201cis also super excited about going on the hunt for holy relics. It is something he has been fascinated with his whole life, and he is going to try to find one of the locations where the Grail is supposedly housed.\u201d<\/p>\n As already noted, this is Navarro\u2019s fourth marriage, as he was previously married to makeup artist Tania Goddard from 1990 to 1992; makeup artist Rhian Gittins for very brief time in 1994; and actress\/model\u00a0Carmen Electra<\/a> from 2003 to 2007.<\/p>\n Born in Los Angeles County in 1993, DuBasso has appeared in several movies and TV shows, including Pretty Little Liars<\/em>, After We <\/em>Collided, Vegas, True Blood<\/em>, He\u2019s All That<\/em>, Legion<\/em>, Upon Waking<\/em> and Modern Family<\/em>.
