She has made quite the splash in a relatively short time, rising to the upper echelon of popular country artists today, and further etching her name with each new song she releases.<\/p>\n One of the biggest hits of 2023 was Carly Pearce\u2019s song that got a Chris Stapleton feature called \u201cWe Don\u2019t Fight Anymore.\u201d If there was ever any<\/a> doubt that Carly reached the top of the mountain, getting someone like Chris Stapleton to feature on your song is about as big of a compliment as one can hope for, and, based on fan reception, it was also a monster hit for the pair.<\/p>\n As often happens, even when you reach the top of the mountain and secure your place among country music\u2019s elite, inevitably, real life comes knocking. In Carly Pearce\u2019s case, it came in the form of \u201cdebilitating chest pain\u201d that understandably, alarmed the singer.<\/p>\n Speaking on the topic recently, Pearce said: \u201cI had a really debilitating chest pain that was only relieved if I bent over like this (leaning forward), and that\u2019s a classic symptom of pericarditis.\u201d Carly continued, adding: \u201cAnd then when you lay back, it gets way worse because that wall<\/a> is kind of inflamed around your heart.\u201d<\/p>\n Detailing even more of what she experienced, Pearce said: \u201cI just had a really intense shortness of breath \u2026 almost having to suck through \u2026 a straw.\u201d<\/p>\n With Carly Pearce recently getting candid about what she experienced as a result of this condition, many of her fans may be wondering what pericarditis actually is, and what this condition entails.<\/p>\n According to the Mayo Clinic<\/em>, \u201cPericarditis is swelling and irritation of the thin, saclike tissue surrounding the heart. This tissue is called the pericardium. Pericarditis often causes sharp chest pain. The chest pain occurs when the irritated layers of the pericardium rub against each other.\u201d<\/p>\n Carly Pearce also revealed that she has been living with the condition for close to five years, and that she has what is called \u201crecurrent pericarditis.\u201d Pearce said: \u201cI\u2019m doing better. I\u2019m healthy, I\u2019m trying to find my new normal. I have what\u2019s called recurrent pericarditis. I\u2019ve had several flares since 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking about any changes she has made to her lifestyle or routine, the singer added: \u201cMaybe not going a thousand percent when I\u2019m running, or maybe walking on a day that I feel a little bit less myself. \u2026 Just trying to figure out ways to keep my mind and my body just more calm<\/a>.
