The track spent four weeks at the top and became a cultural lightning rod.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUp,\u201d released in 2021, also reached No. 1 and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their success, Cardi admitted that she had previously held back from submitting \u201cWAP\u201d for Grammy consideration due to outside pressure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI let haters make me not submit WAP for the Grammy\u2019s and at this point I\u2019m giving my fans what they want! These two songs don\u2019t even count for first week sales so what are yall even crying about???\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She didn\u2019t stop there. Addressing accusations of using old hits to boost album numbers, Cardi added, \u201cDo ya say anything when all these artist pull out all their little tricks and ponies to sell out??? Exactly\u2026.Now let them eat cake.
