After almost two decades away, Japan’s experimental extreme metal pioneers Sigh<\/strong> are returning to the U.S. for a week-long tour, starting with the Fire in the Mountains festival (July 23-26, 2026) and extending to stops in Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, Berkeley, and Los Angeles. Sharing the stage with them will be progressive metal outfit Dreadnought<\/strong> from Denver, CO.<\/p>\n Frontman Mirai Kawashima<\/strong> expressed his excitement about the tour: “I am really excited that Sigh<\/strong> are finally touring the US again. We played at some US festivals, but the last ‘tour’ was in 2008, so this is going to be the first US tour in nearly 2 decades!<\/p>\n “I am 100% sure that now we have the strongest line-up ever during our 36-year career. Definitely you have never seen a stage like ours before. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the Asian horror theater.”<\/p>\n For Dreadnought<\/strong>, the opportunity is equally momentous. We will be performing new music in anticipation of something new to come\u2026”<\/p>\n 7\/23 Blackfeet Nation MT Fire in the Mountains Set against the remote wilderness near Glacier National Park in Montana \u2013 a region the Blackfeet Nation call “The Backbone of the World” \u2013 Fire in the Mountains continues to establish itself as North America’s most immersive heavy music experience.<\/p>\n Combining music, art, education, food, and social responsibility, the festival is designed to reconnect attendees with nature while delivering unforgettable performances under open skies.<\/p>\n Other festival highlights include 16 Horsepower<\/strong>, Enslaved<\/strong>, Baroness<\/strong>, Borknagar<\/strong>, Yob<\/strong>, The Ruins of Beverast<\/strong>, SubRosa<\/strong>, Full of Hell<\/strong>, Gallowbraid<\/strong>, Wayfarer<\/strong>, Old Man Gloom<\/strong>, Raven Chacon & Iggor Cavalera<\/strong>, Midwife<\/strong>, Phobophilic<\/strong>, Tarantella<\/strong>, Yaotl Mictlan<\/strong>, Savage Oath<\/strong>, Galvanist<\/strong>, Nocturne<\/strong>, and El Welk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n From atmospheric black metal to doom, folk, and experimental soundscapes, the bill once again reflects the festival’s commitment to music that feels elemental \u2014 best experienced beneath open skies and mountain horizons.
