The Hartsville rapper signed to Top Dawg Entertainment in a deal that\u2019s got the whole industry watching.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t just another roster addition, this is what happens when authenticity meets opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>The move came through a partnership with 11 Music Group LLC, and <a title=\"\u200c\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/music\/news\/trap-dickey-signs-to-top-dawg-entertainment-1236690511\/\">according to Variety<\/a>, it\u2019s the latest chapter in a story that started with survival.<\/p>\n<p>At 21, Dickey got caught in crossfire and took a bullet. Most people don\u2019t come back from that, but he did, and he turned it into fuel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrap Dickey has a real story that comes straight from his life,\u201d says Anthony \u201cTop Dawg\u201d Tiffith, the label\u2019s founder. \u201cThat kind of authenticity is exactly what we look for at TDE. Since then, he\u2019s been stacking wins with tracks like \u201cYeah Yeah\u201d with Boosie Badazz and \u201cNo Love\u201d featuring BigXthaPlug.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/XBnZa6t3mRU\">\u201cDown South\u201d with Key Glock<\/a> dropped in January and people started paying attention. He even showed up on Kai Cenat\u2019s \u201cMafiathon 3\u201d livestream.<\/p>\n<p>What makes this signing different is the connection. Dickey met Tiffith at the BET Awards last June. They\u2019d crossed paths before, but that moment mattered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing signed to TDE feels like joining the Golden State Warriors or the Lakers,\u201d Dickey said. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to a winning season with TDE.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TDE isn\u2019t just any label. This is the roster that built Kendrick Lamar into a generational talent.
