Although he is a Grammy winner and one of the most listened to artists<\/a>, not everyone felt he was the right choice. There was a lot of petitioning for other musicians to take his place, even country singers. They have a huge fanbase, so it made sense. Plus, there has not been one since Shania Twain in 2003, but now, Luke Combs is ready to take the stage.<\/p>\n Yes, country singers have had other roles at the Super Bowl. For example, Chris Stapleton sang the National Anthem, as did Eric Church. Yet, even Jelly Roll was hopeful that the big<\/a> game would come to Nashville, Tennessee. Moreover, he wanted to see the likes of Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and more command the stage.<\/a> As for Luke, he is waiting for the call.
