Right now, George Floyd is looking up at us all, laughing so hard he can\u2019t breathe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Netflix didn\u2019t just let it slide. They\u2019re giving him his own special called \u201cTony Hinchcliffe: Man Of The People\u201d dropping next week, and the teaser shows him listing races he jokes about before winking about not being in the mood for Jewish jokes anymore.<\/p>\n<p>The George Floyd Foundation came out swinging, calling the bit \u201csad for the culture\u201d and pointing out that Gianna Floyd, now 12 years old, is getting bullied in school because of this constant mockery.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><d class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><br \/>\n<d class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kevin Hart Responds To George Floyd Joke Criticism, Reconciling With Katt Williams + More\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PEyslPpFAJ0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span><\/d><br \/>\n<\/d><\/figure>\n<p>A spokesperson said, \u201cWe are trying to rebuild things for our community and make things better in our community. Let\u2019s try to be a little bit more positive and not sit up there doing colon inspections by white comedians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t even Tony\u2019s first time going there. During the 2024 Tom Brady roast, he joked that Rob Gronkowski \u201clooked like the final boss in George Floyd the video game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The pattern is clear, and Netflix is cool with it.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Hart defended Tony as \u201crelentless but funny,\u201d brushing off the backlash as if it were nothing. But the community wasn\u2019t having it. Lil Rel called the joke \u201cdisgusting\u201d and shamed the crowd for not booing.<\/p>\n<p>Activist Tamika Mallory posted that there\u2019s \u201cliterally NOTHING funny\u201d about how George Floyd was murdered, and she was disgusted that Hart laughed along.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s wild is that Tony performed at a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden, so his whole \u201cman of the people\u201d angle doesn\u2019t exactly track.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix isn\u2019t worried about any of that, though.
