With the album now little more than a month away\u2014and the accompanying \u201c<strong>Estrus\u201d<\/strong> tour about to kick off\u2014Tove keeps the momentum flowing with another captivating preview, \u201c<strong>DNH<\/strong>\u201d (unabbreviated: \u201cDrunk and Horny\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>Without question, this is Tove Lo operating firmly in her electro-dance-pop sweet spot. \u201c<strong>DNH<\/strong>\u201d wraps dark, pulsating production around one of her most unfiltered lyrical concepts yet. That\u2019s always been one of Tove Lo\u2019s greatest strengths\u2014her willingness to expose vulnerability without filtering out the uncomfortable parts. Pair that honesty with the striking visual identity she is building around the \u201c<strong>Estrus\u201d<em> <\/em><\/strong>era, and everything feels cohesive, confident and unmistakably bold.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I\u2019m delighted to see Tove flourishing independently after stepping away from the traditional label system. Creative freedom looks incredible on her. When artists trust their instincts instead of chasing expectations, that\u2019s often when their most compelling work emerges, and everything we\u2019ve heard from \u201c<strong>Estrus\u201d<\/strong> so far points towards one of her most creatively liberated projects to date.<\/p>\n<p>Tove Lo will celebrate the album with a run of special release shows across North America beginning in Nashville on September 15, before heading to Brooklyn and additional cities. The excitement then shifts to the UK and Europe, where she\u2019ll perform her biggest headline shows to date. Support comes from <strong>Mallrat<\/strong> across the North American dates. <strong>Cobrah<\/strong> joins the New York performance. While <strong>Rose Gray<\/strong> accompanies the UK and European leg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>Des Fleurs<\/strong>\u201d hinted at the seductive atmosphere of \u201c<strong>Estrus\u201d<\/strong>, then \u201c<strong>DNH<\/strong>\u201d reveals its emotional heartbeat. Tove Lo isn\u2019t simply giving us another collection of dance-pop anthems\u2014she\u2019s inviting us into the beautifully chaotic spaces where desire, friendship and vulnerability collide. With the pieces she\u2019s unveiled so far, \u201c<strong>Estrus\u201d<\/strong> seems to be an of album that feels just as exhilarating in the early hours of the dancefloor as it does long after the lights come up.
