Rockers are paying tribute to late actor Tim Curry on social media following his death, which was revealed earlier<\/a> today (Aug. 26).<\/p>\n Curry died in his Los Angeles home at the age of 80 last night, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>. The actor was best known for his roles in the 1985 film\u00a0Clue,\u00a0<\/em>the 1990 miniseries\u00a0It\u00a0<\/em>(where he portrayed Pennywise the clown) and, most notably,\u00a0The Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Several rockers have paid tribute to Curry on social media, including film fanatic Slash<\/a> of Guns N’ Roses<\/a>, Dream Theater<\/a>‘s Mike Portnoy<\/a>, Disturbed<\/a>‘s David Draiman<\/a>,\u00a0Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/a>‘ Flea<\/a>, who worked with the actor on\u00a0The Wild Thornberrys<\/em>\u00a0and some others.<\/p>\n “In the early 80\u2019s, one of my biggest obsessions was the Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em>\u2026 I would go every weekend! Whether it was at the Mini Cinema in Uniondale [Long Island] or the 8th St Playhouse in NYC or the actual Dream Theater in Monterey, Calif., I knew every line\u2026(and would even occasionally go dressed as Riff Raff!),” Portnoy wrote in his post.<\/p>\n “I was a kid who dressed in mom\u2019s makeup and lamay dress and went to see Rocky Horror<\/em> at the Tiffany theater on Sunset. I loved Tim Curry. We worked together later for a few years on The Wild Thornberries<\/em> and I was excited to hang out with him and cut up, the sincere and funny voices. He was kind, smart and funny as hell.
