Luke Bryan is not only a country powerhouse, but he is also a beloved judge on American Idol<\/em>. He balances out Lionel Richie and newer judge<\/a>, Carrie Underwood. Yet, underneath his musical persona is a man who lost both of his siblings but managed to keep his faith. Keep reading for more on how he never gave up, even when he wanted to.<\/p>\n

Luke Bryan Went From Brother To Only Child<\/h3>\n

Being a sibling can be a blessing and, for some, a curse. Luke Bryan was one of three, as he had a brother, Chris, and a sister, Kelly. He was the baby of the family<\/a>, but that all changed in 1996 when Chris passed away in a tragic car accident. Chris was only 26 years old when he died, and that definitely made Luke stop and think about what was next for his future:<\/p>\n

I was never convinced I\u2019d get back to Nashville, but I didn\u2019t spend time on \u2018Should I go or should I not?\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Being barely 20, Luke still needed to decide how he was going to live his life. So, he went to Georgia Southern University, got a degree, and met his wife.<\/p>\n

His career as a singer and songwriter began booming<\/a>, and then his sister, Kelly, passed away in 2007. She was only 39, and the cause was unknown. After this happened, he had this to say:<\/p>\n

My only older siblings\u2026gone from the world, in a flash, in two\u2026two different, crazy, tragic manners, that\u2026we\u2019ll never know, and never understand.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This shocked Luke and his family because how do you process these horrible life events? It can make someone question their faith, but Luke Bryan never gave his up. He has kept going, performing<\/a>; he even helped raise Kelly\u2019s children when her husband also died.
