2027 Audi Q9 & SQ9 First Look

You don’t have to be a fortune teller to see this coming. Audi is finally joining the full-size luxury SUV game and you can probably guess the model name too.

Yes, this is our first look at the new Q9. And there’s a lot to cover so let’s dig in.

Measuring 209 inches long, 86.8 inches wide, and 71.4 inches tall, it’s 9.9-inches longer than the Q7 with the same width and 0.2-inches taller.

It features a standard 7 seater setup or optional 6 passenger for what Audi calls a “business-class atmosphere.”

Notable highlights include the largest ever panoramic glass roof fitted to an Audi which measures 16 square feet with an available transparency control setting.

Wheels can be optioned up to an absurdly large 23-inches.

Plus there are power doors like we saw recently on the BMW X5. Because opening doors for yourself is so 2025.

It also features the first ever use of OLED taillights, but perhaps the most interesting light feature of the vehicle are the turn signals that project onto the ground in unison with the actual lights for maximum visibility.
That’s something the X5 doesn’t have because, well… what’s the point.

Cargo room is 19.3 cu-ft behind the 3rd row, 43.8 behind the 2nd row and a total of 87.7 cut-ft. That compares to 15.1 / 37.7 and 78.1 in the Q7.

At launch, the Q9 will be available with the same motor as the Q7, a twin turbo 2.9-liter V6 making 429 hp and 442 lb.- ft. of torque, delivering a class-leading 4.9 second 0-60 time.

But if you want more power. And we know you do, there’s also the SQ9.
It makes use of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 to make (get ready for this) 591 hp and 590 lb-ft or torque for a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds which Audi claims makes it the quickest accelerating three row SUV in its class.
It also gets performance goodies like rear wheel steering and that big V8 allows it to tow up to 7700 lbs.

In dealerships in Q4 the Q9 starts at 87,700 with the SQ9 a big leap up to $118,000
