Watch “Honest” by Dirt Flirt

There’s something quietly magnetic about Dirt Flirt right now. The project of London-based multi-instrumentalist Kit Eaton-Kent continues to carve out a distinctive lane in alt-pop, rooted in honest, evocative lyricism and emotional complexity. Openly navigating messy breakups, identity and self-discovery, Dirt Flirt is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing emerging artists on the UK queer pop landscape.

With the new EP “Scorpio Fever”, arriving 22nd May via Final Girl Records, that emotional depth moves into darker territory. Across five tracks, the project promises to explore vulnerability, obsession and eventual release. These are themes already beginning to reveal themselves through it’s singles.

Following the previously released “focus on u,” which captured the intoxicating haze of infatuation and that all-consuming moment when one person becomes your entire universe. However, the new single “honest” flips the emotional perspective entirely. Here, Dirt Flirt examines the decline of a relationship when idealisation fades and difficult truths begin to surface.

She says, “honest” invites the listener into an intimate setting where a relationship is starting to fall apart, and the obsession and idealisation has faded. It explores the vulnerability of realising your own flaws, as well as someone else’s.”

What makes “honest” especially compelling above all is that it resists leaning into melodrama. This is not heartbreak delivered in a brooding, heavy-handed way. Instead, there’s a considered thoughtfulness in how Dirt Flirt processes the emotional intricacies of a relationship unravelling. Wrapped in a soft electro soundscape with a subtle Lauv-like allure, the track feels intimate, reflective and quietly devastating.

Focus on u” captured obsession and “honest” documents emotional reckoning. These songs don’t just document feelings, they equally metabolise them into something immersive, intelligent and deeply human. Consider the fever officially spreading.

Adding even more momentum to the release, a headlining debut at The Victoria in London on 23rd May to celebrate “Scorpio Feveris announced. Dirt Flirt firmly belongs among London’s next wave of queer pop disruptors. Do you have scorpio fever? Come along and find out!  Tickets are on sale here!
