How ‘American Idol’ Trapped Scotty McCreery In BTS Moment

American Idol can be a fickle beast, as it has launched many careers, even for those who did not win the show. Now, Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery is sharing how the reality singing competition once trapped him in a BTS story. Keep reading for all of the details.
Scotty McCreery Won Season 10 Of Idol
American Idol viewers became familiar with Scotty McCreery in Season 10, which he ended up winning. He has since won the Academy of Country Music Awards New Artist of the Year in 2012 and several other high honors. Moreover, he has sold over four million albums and is a very recognizable name. Yet, he has some stories from his time on Idol that are a tad bit scary, and he is just now sharing them with fans and followers. At one time, he was actually trapped by the show and was not allowed to leave.
He detailed how he was excited to get to leave the show on a day off, which the contestants never got. However, at the last second, all of that changed, which was a very scary prospect:
I was going to go to a baseball game, then they found out I was going to leave the premises and they wouldn’t… they had security outside, they wouldn’t let me leave.
Scotty McCreery added that being on American Idol was a full-time job, and they never got breaks. Yet, when they did get a chance to wind down, he never wanted to sing or think about performing. So, getting to go to a baseball game was a huge deal. Of course, being told that was not happening was heartbreaking for the singer.
Regardless of that bad moment, it did not hinder Scotty’s time on the show as a whole. Rather, he is utterly grateful for the time that he spent and the experience that he had.

When Scotty McCreery won American Idol, viewers were thrilled for him. They felt that he was the best choice to take home the win and had nothing but positive things to say about the contestant who was just seventeen at the time:
